




The Cultural Gala and Innovation Day was successfully held on Friday, 13th March 2026 under the theme “Preserving Heritage, Inspiring Innovation for the 21st Century.” The event brought together students, staff, and invited guests in a celebration that blended cultural appreciation with creativity and forward-thinking innovation.
The day was marked by a variety of engaging performances and activities that showcased the diverse talents within the university community. These included the singing of the university anthem, poetry recitals, folk songs, cultural fashion displays, skits and drama presentations, comedy acts, traditional dances, and music performances. In addition, panel discussions were conducted to provide a platform for intellectual engagement on culture and innovation in the modern era.
The function was graced by distinguished guests, including the university secretary Mr. Nabaasa Medard Abaasa, who served as the guest speaker. The keynote address was delivered by Muhereza Valentine a.k.a Kachina, who inspired students to embrace creativity and innovation while staying rooted in their cultural identity.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation under the leadership of Hon. Akansasira Alex, the 21st Minister for Culture and Innovation. He worked in close collaboration with Hon. Humura Ivan, Hon. Ainebyona Samuel, Hon. Kamukama Rodney, and Hon. Catherine Nahurira, who played a key role in mobilizing participants and ensuring the success of the event.
