On March 16, 2025, the 20th Bishop Stuart University (BSU) Guild Government, led by the Guild President, H.E. Asiimwe Ronald, spearheaded the Guild Sunday service in collaboration with the BSU St. John Catholic Community. The service, held at the university chapel, brought together students, guild leaders, and members of the Catholic community for a moment of worship, thanksgiving, and reflection. It was a significant occasion that emphasized the importance of faith, unity, and student leadership in spiritual matters.
The Guild President, H.E. Asiimwe Ronald, led the team alongside other guild members, including the Minister of Gender, Hon. Recheal; GRC BAJMC, Hon. Tumukugize Johnson; GRC Languages (Chairperson GAC), Hon. Nuwagaba Paul; GRC DIT, Hon. Asimire Shillah; GRC BIT (Secretary GPC), Hon. Asingwire Martin; GRC DPAM, Hon. Kanyesigye Edrida; GRC DHRM (Committee Member GAC), Hon. Ssesanga Obed; Minister of Religious Affairs, Hon. Ayebare Nweton; GRC DBA, Hon. Tuhaise Chrispus; and Minister of ICT, Hon. Nayebare Alex. The guild leaders actively participated in the service, leading prayers, scripture readings, and moments of reflection on leadership and faith.
In his address, Guild President H.E. Asiimwe Ronald expressed gratitude to the St. John Catholic Community for their dedication to spiritual growth within the university. He highlighted the importance of maintaining strong moral values and working together as a student body to promote positive change at BSU. He further encouraged students to stay committed to their faith and to support one another in both academic and personal endeavors.
The event also featured praise and worship sessions led by the Catholic community choir, filling the chapel with melodious hymns and vibrant songs of praise. Students from different faculties actively engaged in the celebrations, demonstrating the unity and diversity that define the BSU community. Testimonies from students further emphasized how faith has played a crucial role in their academic journeys and personal development.
Guild Sunday concluded with a special blessing for the Guild Government and the entire student body. The Community chaplain Rev. Fr Kananura prayed for wisdom, strength, and guidance for the leaders as they continue to serve the university. The event was a true reflection of faith in leadership, fostering a deeper sense of community and shared responsibility among students.
