







On Friday 10th April 2026, the 21st Guild Government under the Ministry of ICT led by the Minister of ICT Hon. Nankunda Mackline successfully organized a MegaBlast ICT Workshop at Bishop Stuart University . The workshop was held in the Main New Library Level 3. It ran from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m under the theme “Empowering Students with Practical ICT Skills for Innovation and Career Growth.” The organizing team also included Hon. Igga Patrick, Information Minister and Hon. Ivan Humura, GRC DIT.
The event brought together distinguished facilitators from academia and industry. These included Dr. Kiguli Cosmas, Head of the Department of Computing, Library and Information Technology (CLIT). Also present was Mr. Edison Kagona, a Senior Tech Lead and AI/ML Specialist affiliated with Cavendish University Uganda (CUU). Mr. Turinayo Moses, Co-Founder of Infinitech Innovations Ltd in Mbarara also facilitated sessions. Their expertise greatly enriched the learning experience.
Key areas covered during the workshop included Cyber Security, Data Recovery, and Mobile Application Development. The sessions were highly interactive. Students actively participated and asked insightful questions. They engaged in practical discussions. This enthusiasm showed the relevance and impact of the workshop in equipping students with essential digital skills.
The workshop concluded on a significant note with the official handover and swearing-in ceremony of the BUCOSA leadership. The outgoing committee formally handed over instruments of power to the incoming team. This marked a smooth transition of leadership. This MegaBlast ICT Workshop was a resounding success. It achieved its objective of empowering students with practical knowledge. It also promoted innovation and career readiness in the field of ICT
