This campaign is part of the Cambrigisation Agenda, spearheaded by our own Prof. John F. Mugisha, the 4th Vice-Chancellor of Bishop Stuart University. The Vice-Chancellor envisions transforming BSU into a model institution comparable to Cambridge University. His plan includes solarisation, digitalisation, flowerisation, renovation of roofs, and many other developmental initiatives.
As part of this beautification drive, an activity was carried out yesterday within the university compound. It brought together key stakeholders, including the University Secretary, Madam Hildah, alongside Guild Officials led by the Guild President H.E. Beinomegisha Robert and his Vice, Musiimenta Praise, the Minister for Health and Environment, other ministers, honourables representing different constituencies, as well as a large number of students who actively took part in the exercise.
During the activity, participants engaged in various tasks such as:
-
Repainting university compound seats in white and pink,
-
Sweeping around the compound,
-
Mopping lecture rooms,
-
Pruning trees and trimming fences,
-
Planting trees, and
-
Several other environmental and beautification initiatives.
The activity was successfully concluded, leaving the university environment cleaner, greener, and more vibrant — a true step forward in the Cambrigisation journey, with both leaders and students working hand in hand to transform BSU.
